Guided tour in Athens, photos and reviews
Exciting discoveries in familiar surroundings!

As a frequent visitor to Athens, I never realized how much there was to see in the city. We took a pleasant walk through various parts of Athens, experiencing a journey through time that was both exciting and emotional. The visit to the prison during the Nazi era was particularly powerful, as the pictures on the walls bore witness to the prisoners’ thirst and longing. Finding a large garden (or woodland) under Athens’ busiest bridge and getting a tyropita (cheese pie) from the city’s oldest tyropita bakery was equally gratifying. I highly recommend taking a tour with Giorgios, who enthusiastically and enthusiastically shares his knowledge and his city in this walk. Don’t miss it!
Georgios made my day in Athens so much more enjoyable than the typical sightseeing experience. We explored streets that I may not have discovered as a tourist and visited hidden gems that I never could have imagined existed in this city. The walk was exciting and informative, leaving me eager to learn more about the history behind each attraction.
The walk was diverse, taking us through greenery, nature, palaces, bunkers, malls, and ancient shrines. I would love to replicate this experience by visiting a Greek home and immersing myself in the authentic lifestyle, food, and culture of the country or city I am visiting. Staying in a hotel and not knowing anyone on site would make me feel like a typical tourist. Georgios’ city walk made me feel like I was home with a Greek who showed me around the heart of Athens. I experienced the pulse of the city and the flow of history in an exciting and unique way. This is an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Georgios and Expedition Greece, for this amazing day.

As someone interested in 19th and 20th-century architecture, Athens may not have been my first choice for a guided tour. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the city’s hidden gems, such as the 1941 Gestapo headquarters located in a 1930s house and the forgotten 1920s department store with a wall straight through from antiquity. Georgios provides an exciting and knowledgeable tour that showcases Athens beyond the Acropolis.
